Pole Play instructor’s unique screening criteria

At Pole Play, we have unique screening criteria for all of our instructors.

We’ve found that the right instructor is absolutely critical to you having a rewarding experience —whilst discovering the exciting skill of pole dancing. That’s no matter what level you’re at.

Pole dancing is at a stage in its evolution where we believe it’s absolutely critical to surround your pole dancing experience with professional processes.

These can only be followed through consistently by truly professional instructors.

When you first meet your instructor at Pole Play, you’ll have the comfort of knowing that they have passed the highest level of screening, and we evaluated them on a list of required attributes and skills (it’s no mistake that the first set of attributes is all about interpersonal skills). Here’s just a snapshot of our unique screening criteria:

Interpersonal and Professional Skills

Our instructors are only human but we do ensure — to meet our professional standards — that they are:

1. Consistently interested in, focused on and committed to you having a great experience and feeling comfortable at all times as you’re discovering pole dancing.



2. Excellent listeners. It’s one thing to be able to speak in front of a group and pole dance comfortably. At Pole Play this does not make you an instructor. Thousands of girls can do that. It’s absolutely critical that our instructors are naturally good listeners, tuned in to your mood and your preferences.



3. Very approachable. There’s nothing worse than someone who thinks they are a superstar just because they can pole dance really well. Get over yourself! Pole Play instructors have you know by their actions that you can always approach them easily, without reservations.



4. Lots of professional pole dancing experience – at the top of the industry. It’s because they have several years of pole dancing that our instructors are able to spin, turn, tuck and swing around the pole at the highest level.



5. Very organised and punctual. Things have to run smoothly and effectively so no time is wasted. Instructors follow a specific program to each level. With our instructors being organized, we can give great attention to detail.



6. Professional leadership experience. To be a great instructor, you need to be a great leader. And all great leaders are servant leaders. Our instructors are required to have a track record of professional leadership. It might be in business, sport, the arts, education—we’re open to any possibility.



7. Passion for developing people skills. And patience. No matter what it takes, if their passion is to support you in discovering pole dancing than we can deliver great results!



8. Passion for pole dancing. When it looks so effortless, harmonious, hypnotic, there’s no secret: they just love what they do. Our instructors are not only great dancers but they can captivate an audience.
